Colorado State School-age Licensing Requirements

Site Director - School-age Program Leader Qualified *Leadership and supervisory skills. Manages a before and after site.   Job Description.

Program Leader - at least 21 years of age and have one of the following:

A four year degree related to child care, recreation, social work, human development...

OR

*2 years of college and 950 hours of documentable experience with groups (3 or more) of school-agers since the time you turned 18.

OR

*5260 hours of documentable experience with groups of school-agers since the time you turned 18 and be willing to complete required coursework in the next 12 months.

Program Assistants - at least 18 years of age and have 520 hours of documentable experience with groups of school-agers since the time you turned 18.

Program Aides - at least 16 and have a desire to work toward Program Assistant qualifications. Aides are hired when and where there is a need at a site for 3 or more staff.

Additional hiring information

In addition to the minimum age and experience requirements all staff must complete initial training and a personnel packet which includes fingerprinting and background check. Initial training includes New Staff Orientation, Spending time at the training site, Universal Precautions and Child Abuse awareness training.
