Quote/Story Regarding B.A.S.E. Camp:

For parents, B.A.S.E. Camp is a safe, affordable, enriching environment that provides parents peace of mind as they work or go to school to maintain their families’ self-sufficiency. For children, B.A.S.E. Camp is the place to be with friends and have a wonderful time while not realizing the fun activities support classroom learning. The greatest compliment is when children want to do a “re-run day” – to have a day just like the one they just experienced.

Jill Schmucker

Work Experience:

I have been at BASE Camp for six years. In these years, I have been a substitute, a camp counselor, a program director, a classroom lead, an exploration camp lead, the project specialist, and now a program coordinator. All of these positions have allowed me to really learn the ins and outs of all we do. Before BASE Camp, I worked in several other childcare programs in the community, as well as, doing some volunteer work with youth Special Olympics.

Bachelor of Arts, Journalism, Colorado State University, 2002

Quote/Story Regarding B.A.S.E. Camp:

The true joy of our work comes from the never-ending comedy from kids. They have such an innocent perspective on things we, as adults, tend to take too seriously. It is a constant reminder to take time to stop and smell the stinky gym socks and laugh a little.  I am proud to be a part of an organization whose mission includes and provides for all the families in our community.
